Firstbeat Technologies Ltd. has developed a new, more reliable and accurate heartbeat measurement device for healthcare, wellness and physical activity professionals to support the use of Firstbeat software.
Firstbeat Bodyguard aims at 100% success in each recording. Measurement errors and data breaks can be almost completely eliminated with the new attachment method. User comfort has also been significantly improved: Firstbeat Bodyguard is very lightweight and unobtrusive. The device is attached directly to the skin with snap electrodes on 3 points, eliminating the need to wear a belt around the body. Skin contact is minimal to avoid discomfort and irritation.
Firstbeat Bodyguard can be used to record heartbeat data continuously for 3-5 days, being able to store 490 000 R-R intervals with a sampling rate of 1000 Hz. The duration of the rechargeable battery during active recordings is at least 3 days.
The device is smaller than a matchbox and has been designed with user comfort in mind. Recorded data is downloaded and the battery is recharged with a docking station attached to the computer’s USB port. The data can be downloaded directly to Firstbeat software. A multi-device docking station is also available, allowing 8 devices to be recharged simultaneously.
