Problems and Answers
 

Problem 1:

When installing a Firstbeat product, the following error message might occur:

The invalid drive can vary per machine.

This error has several causes:

  • The CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive letter has changed since a previous install.
  • You have changed the drive letter of the hard disk that the operating system is installed on, for example, drive C.
    • This behavior may occur if a registry key contains an incorrect value in a Data field.

Problem 2:

Windows Vista operating system crashes and shows blue screen immediately when Suunto t6 is plugged in.

Answer 2:

Download and install the latest Suunto t6 device driver from Suunto web site.

Problem 3:

When Suunto Smart Belt or Suunto t6 is plugged in and everything seems to be ok, ATHLETE gives the following kind of message when trying to load R-R file.

Answers 3:

  • Close Suunto Training Manager if it's running. Concurrent use of Suunto Training manager causes this problem.
  • Check if the battery is ok. Bad battery causes this problem especially with Suunto Smart Belt.
  • Check that the small metal pins behind the t6 or Smart Belt and docking station are clean. Make sure that there is no physical factor that prevents the connection. Note that:
    • When Suunto Smart Belt is set to docking station, it should blink green light three times to indication fine connection.
    • When Suunto t6 has fine connection, it shows text 'PC Interface' in the watch screen.
  • Make sure that appropriate USB driver is installed for the device you are using. If not, find the appropriate driver from www.suunto.com.

Problem 4:

When using manual activation, Firstbeat activation server seems not to answer the Install key e-mail.

Answers 4:

Firstbeat activation server should answer any e-mail sent to it.

  • Check for the response mail from your junk e-mail folder.
  • Check that your virus protection software allows incoming mail from firstbeattechnologies.com.

The Install key can be re-sent to activation server for unlimited times.
